my yoke is easy .....

Apparently, a rabbi would have a specific teaching,
nicknamed a yoke.
Yokes were based on the law of the Old Testament.

Jesus says :
Take my yoke upon you,
and learn of me;
for I am meek and lowly in heart:
and you shall find rest unto your souls.
For my yoke is easy,
and my burden is light.(M11)

... Learn the unforced rhythms of grace.
I won't lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you.(MSG)

The main theme here is :
Jesus is changing the idea of yokes.

His yoke will be :
from a position
of gentleness,
of humbleness of heart,
of lightness,
that only results in soul restfulness,
grace and peace.

Ok, ask yourself,
Have my teachers had these qualities?;
better still,
Does my church actually encourage this mission?

+++

..be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage...
... whosoever of you are justified by the law;
you are fallen from grace !! (G5)

+++

[Pharisees at least wanted circumcision!?
Ha! .. sounds so reasonable!?]

..... why tempt you God, to put a yoke
upon the neck of the disciples,
which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear?

[obviously talking about laws in general]

we believe that through the
grace of the Lord Jesus Christ
we shall be saved, even as they.(A15)

+++

Please meditate upon the preceding
before continuing.....

+++

Be you not
unequally yoked together with unbelievers:
for what fellowship
has righteousness with unrighteousness?
(2C6)

+++

..going about to establish their own righteousness,
have not submitted themselves
unto the righteousness of God.(R10)

+++

..if righteousness come by the law,
then Christ is dead in vain.(G2)

+++

So "unequally yoked to unbelievers"
should truly be defined as
grouping together with those who
do not believe in
"righteousness by Grace from Jesus";
those that keep wanting to put rules
and yokes upon people
that define what it means
to be part of their group.

+++

There are many christian "yokes",
some call them anointings
or are likened to flavours, or families.

This is where the religious spirit
keeps warping things.
Having started in the Grace of the Spirit
to bog down in the works of the flesh.

Some groups have "unbelieving yokes"
based upon the argued righteousness.

These groups eventually result in
"churches" that look like :

service clubs that emphasise "charity";
choirs that emphasise certain ways of worship;
militants that combine the political with scripture;
the elite that must pray in tongues;
the decent that are locked into liturgy;
 or some other emphasis.

+++

These "churches" are the unbelievers of grace.
Perversely, they use
"unequally yoked to unbelievers",
to prevent their members from seeking nothing
but their particular "doctrines".

+++

Jesus will keep you easy,
light, free, loved, healed,
included, joyed, blessed,
blissed, gifted and graced;
otherwise it is not His yoke.
