AGAPE - to be content with.

God was so content with man
that He gave His son to saves us from what was killing us.
What killed us was sin in the flesh activated by the LAW.
In removing the union we had with the law
we have the freedom to know and believe in Him.

His SPIRIT then raises His life up in us and so we are Saved.

Song of Songs 4:12 The Passion Translation

+

The Hebrew word : olam

and the Greek word  : aionios

have been mistranslated as : eternal

dozens of times.

How can something be eternal when it has the word until attached to it?

Jonah was in the fish forever UNTIL three days later (Jonah 1:17).

The law is eternal UNTIL it vanishes away (Hebrews 8:7-13).

Animal sacrifices are eternal UNTIL ended by Christ (2 Chronicles 2:4).

Israel's judgment is forever UNTIL God restores it (Isaiah 32:13-15).

The Aaronic priesthood is eternal UNTIL Melchizadek (Exodus 40:15).

Christ reigns eternal UNTIL He has put all enemies under His feet
(1 Corinthians 15:25).

You will not come out of hell UNTIL you have paid up the last cent (Matthew 5:26).

How can people suggest or teach that the concept of eternal conscious torment exists

if there is an UNTIL attached to it?

Now those that say ALL does not mean ALL may also say
that UNTIL does not mean UNTIL.
Well, it does! ♥

Every church kid born in the 70's or 80's remembers sitting through those documentaries in which we were warned about the evils of secular music. The climax of these films was the 'back masking' section, in which they would demonstrate how playing some popular metal tunes backwards would produce satanic words and phrases.

In the modern church, however, one does not need to play most of our songs backwards to hear satanic messages. You merely need to play them as they are in order to be bombarded with Old Covenant messages of sin, separation, dirt, and distance. However, if we would play some of these tunes backwards, we might just get a picture of what eternal life is supposed to look like. :)

Human life is human life. It is beyond precious no matter who it is. I don't care if it's someone from Pakistani bus bombings the other day, middle east war and drone victims, the hundreds killed in today's Iranian earthquake or innocent people at the Boston bombings. They all deserve thoughts and attention and the establishment media needs to step up their game, not cherry pick whose life matters while demonizing those who ask questions that need to be asked. If I'm ever killed in such an awful way I pray someone will throw political correctness out the window and ask the unpopular questions the second after it happens. Charisma [magazine] is notorious for uninformed slander. I've seen them attack numerous respectable ministries they dislike over the years in the name of objective reporting. How could some view them as a theological authority in the charismatic church? They are simply a for-profit Christian gossip mag. I've been named in the magazine several times by the editors, always in a slanderous way - but never once have I been contacted by them to see what I actually believe. There is enough libel written about me on their online chat forums that I could sue them and live comfortably the rest of my life. Working as an award-winning editor/journalist for a newspaper for years, I can attest that even in the secular arena, such lack of integrity in reporting would get most writers fired. Their recent string of rants against this mythical straw man they call "hyper grace" is just more of the same ... yaaawwnnn ...

I've said this on many, many different occasions, but I feel it necessary to say it once more:

America is not a covenant nation! What I mean, is that America, the good old United States of America (which I am blessed to call my home), is not a nation that is in covenant with God. Now, trust me, I understand that various groups throughout history, from the Pilgrims to modern intercessors, have attempted to make national, contractual agreements with God, but the fact is, such covenants do not hold any weight in the realm of eternity.

The only divine covenant in existence in that which exists between the Father and the Son, and this is a covenant which has existed throughout eternity.

When you have to fundamentally change and restructure the entire personality of God in order to keep hold of certain eschatological ideas, or concepts about the afterlife, it is best to reanalyze your doctrines, and not the character of your God. A theology that makes you out to be a better parent, a more loving friend, or a more effective disciplinarian than the Ancient of Days, is a theology formed in the womb of mythology. Unfortunately, we are much more apt to change the image of God to fit with our pop theology than we are to alter our theology to fit with the character of God.

Not good.

Don't eat something just because it's being spoon fed to you. Don't say "Amen" just because everyone else is. And don't follow the lemmings just because they're all running in the same direction. There are many popularly held to beliefs that the present reformation is forcing us to reanalyze and put to the fire. God is purging His body of the toxic, Adamic mythologies that we've been clinging to for so many years. Much of what the church is presently saying, "Amen" to, will turn their stomach in just a few short years.

Buckle up. Change is taking place. The Reformation has begun!

Things. Will. Never. Be. The. Same. Again.

I once had dinner with 6 other friends where we enjoyed eating, drinking and conversing in my home. They were all Christians who were part of an institutional church. Knowing I was no longer going to a 'church', I was asked "But don't you think it's important to meet with other believers and fellowship?" - to which I replied "What do you think we are doing right now?"

This amazed me, and caused me to later reflect on why I was asked the question. I concluded it is because to some the only real way to have relationships/fellowship with other believers is if someone organizes it for them and it revolves around some form of religious program.

There we were, all invited into my home, to enjoy being together as believers, and the whole time they failed to see this as fellowship, simply because I was not first part of some organization that programmed the evening for us, but rather, I simply organized it myself because I wanted to enjoy an evening with them, no strings attached and no religious program or bible study planned.

Why do Christians come so quickly to the conclusion other Christians who don't want any part of organized religion and institutional church are therefore saying they don't want, or don't have, an active community of believers they interact with? This is a ridiculous conclusion to come to. The institutional church is not the gatekeeper to fellowship. Not by a long shot. In fact, not even in the slightest.

I've noticed a strange phenomenon over the years. If a Christian author or speaker makes a splash by edging his or her way more towards a Grace focused message, more often than not, they cause a huge controversy, and are labeled 'heretics' by other members of the pastoral fraternity. They have books published against their books, sermons preached correcting their sermons, and countless blogs and videos published in order to tarnish their reputation. Their message will be called a "devilish, end-times delusion", and accused of, "giving people a license to sin in the name of grace".

However, if a similarly well known author or speaker publishes a book on getting back to "old fashioned holiness standards", and launches into rants about non essentials, and sometimes even slips squarely into full blown legalism, the book will be hailed as a "trumpet call to a sleeping church".

I watched an episode of American Greed recently where several victims of a scammer were interviewed who made similar comments of never forgiving the offender and hoping he "rotted in prison for life".

Sadly they all displayed the turned down mouth and hollowing eyes of a bitter spirit. No one had showed them that their apparent virtuous attempts at justice were already destroying their lives while the perpetrator was getting on with his life.

Make no mistake a decision to never forgive is a decision to end your own possibility of freedom. YOUR prison is much worse than any man made building.

You couldn’t even get yourself born the first time,

Jesus did say to Nicodemus unless you’re born from above

(meaning unless you realize that you originate from above)

you would have no interest or appetite for heavenly things! John 3:13
God is not man’s idea;

mankind is God’s idea.

Man began in God, not in his mother’s womb.

I am…

An Inclusivist
I believe all of life is sacred, every human being is beautiful, and each moment matters.

An Atheist
I don’t believe in a “God” whose love and acceptance is conditional, or who advocates fear, shame, oppression, injustice, ignorance, repression or hatred.

An Agnostic
There is twice as much that I don’t know, than I do know. The mystery of it all cannot be cloaked in certainty.

A Student of Jesus
I want to be courageously human, a powerful expression of love, acceptance, peace, beauty, goodness, freedom and compassion in this world, and live without separation from myself, God, others and life… as I see Jesus did.

A Possibility-iest
I believe in the possibility of humankind awakening to our profound interconnectedness, and the possibilities of the power of love to transform our world.

In Hebrew the term, “fathered you” in Deut 32:18,
also has the nuance of “danced with you!”
This reminds of the Greek word the early church fathers used
to illustrate the relationship of the trinity had with itself…
the Perichoresis. Peri = arround, and Choresis = “choreography or Dance”.
Can you imagine it, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit,
circling around each other in a divine dance.
In complete unity!
The mystery that has been revealed in the Good news is that God himself invited mankind,
his highest expression of himself,
created in his image and likeness
into that dance with him.
In the Garden we lost our role in the dance
but through Christ it has been restored for ever more!!!
God has invited us BACK in the DANCE!

"There was a time when Christians generally accepted, or even vigorously advocated:

the persecution of heretics,
the subordination of women,
the practice of religious intolerance,
the divine right of kings against democratic freedoms,
the institution of slavery,
indifference about cruelty to animals,
the suppression of civil rights,
white supremacy,
racism,
religious exclusivism,
opposition to scientific progress,
the burning of witches,
and the state's enforcement of the Christian religion on the whole of society.

But over and against religious authority, the God-given spirit of truth that resides inside us knew that these attitudes and practices were not acceptable, even if they were justified in name of God or Jesus or the Bible. The church is not infallible and it often stands in direct opposition to the truth, rather than dispensers of it."

- Jim Palmer, Notes From (over) The Edge
+
I think Jesus is on the side of anyone who is being judged by another. If I look at someone and in my heart judge them, then I'll find myself going up against Jesus who will be defending them. It is not to say Jesus condones their action, but he refuses to let anyone play God, for only God is the One who can judge. (and his way of judgement is to ultimately take it upon himself in the place of others, as witnessed in the Cross)

The gospels reveal to us how whenever anyone plays the judge, they find themselves up against Jesus. The ultimate point is that we should live our lives from a position of grace and love, for to live judging others' motives and actions only causes us to clash against Jesus for all the wrong reasons.

To live with grace, love and compassion is to not only be on Jesus' side, it's to truly experience the active blessing of living IN him. Live the way of Christ. Love fully. Live fully.

..God so loved the world (assuming you love him back) that he gave (because he didn't have any other option) his only son (fair skinned, long blonde hair) that whoever believes in him (and prayers the sinner's prayer, attends the right church and obeys most of the rules) will not perish (spend eternity in hell) but have everlasting life (spend eternity in heaven)...

Could also be...

...God so loved the world (regardless of whether we return the affection) that he gave (because giving is something we as human beings can understand) his only son (we are all the sons and daughters of God) that whoever believes in him (anyone, any race, gender, age, religion) will not perish (continue in a state of being like death, seperated from God in their mind and heart) but have everlasting life (right now, abundant living full of love and free of guilt and shame)...

The difference is all in how you look at it.

You were never called to be a "world changer", or a "history maker". You are called to be a son of God, accepted in the Beloved! Oh, sure, when you truly grasp all of the implications of sonship, you will, no doubt, impact your sphere of influence. However, when God dreamed His dream of your life, you changing the world was not the first thing on His mind, or in His heart.

According to Ephesians 1:3-5, the Godhead's original dream was to adopt us into their own wholesome, and functional family unit, that we might be holy just as they are, and enjoy a life saturated in their presence!

That, and that alone is God's original design for man. Man was predestined to walk out this reality in His everyday life. Will "world changing" happen as a result? Sure, but our aim ought always to be the enjoyment of our sonship, and the awakening of others to this same glorious reality, which is true of them as well!

The moment your aim becomes "changing the world", or "taking a nation", rather than embracing the opinion of God, and revealing Jesus Christ to the world, is the moment that you will begin learning of toil, blood, sweat, and tears. Friends, this is not about you changing the world, it's about you and I waking up to the fact that CHRIST has changed the world, and then waking others up to this same truth.

The blood of Christ is not a magical amulet that protects you from the fury of an angry God.
His blood is the evidence that God has never been angry with you,
but has loved you throughout eternity!
It's also an eternal testimony to the fact that there is *NO* length that God won't go to
in order to rescue that which He loves!

12 Things It's Not:

God is not a belief system.
The Bible is not a book of theology.
Church is not a place you go.
Love is not a theory.
Grace has no exceptions.
Jesus did not start a religion.
Your humanity is not the enemy.
Being you is not bad.
Being a woman is not inferior.
The abundant life is not a checklist.
Transformation is not behavior modification.
Ministry is not measured in numbers.

Obedience to law principles to have a good life is disobedience to God
for it is called FORNICATION by HIM .
We cannot be MADE PERFECT by observing the commandments of the LAW. -B.Brits

So, then, if with Christ you've put all that pretentious and infantile religion behind you,
why do you let yourselves be bullied by it?
"Don't touch this! Don't taste that! Don't go near this!"
Do you think things that are here today and gone tomorrow are worth that kind of attention?
Such things sound impressive if said in a deep enough voice.
They even give the illusion of being pious and humble and ascetic.
But they're just another way of showing off, making yourselves look important.
Col 2:20-23

4 Common Objections I Often Hear To "Shedding Religion" (and how I typically respond to them):

1. You don’t go to church anymore

If a person’s involvement in a church feeds and reinforces a message and perspective that hinders their knowing God, then it makes complete sense not to involve yourself there anymore. Many Christians receive their understanding about God through the institution of Church and when they discover this understanding is deeply flawed and they see how this flawed understanding has damaged their lives, they remove themselves from their church. The reason most people object to this is because these confuse leaving one’s church with leaving one’s faith. Research shows that “church leavers” grow stronger in their faith, as opposed to digressing in their faith. The issue is also controversial because people wrongly equate “church” with their specific form of church. There are an endless number of forms of church ranging from highly organized to practically no organization at all. Many people who leave organized church eventually connect in smaller, more informal types of community, which may not comply with the letter of the law when it comes to institutional church but fulfills the true spirit of “church.”

2. You are reading some really weird books

Many Christians in the “shedding religion” process will read books that: a) looks at their Christian faith with a critical eye, b) promotes spirituality over religion, c) offers a different and fresh view and perspective on faith and God. Shedders will be drawn to authors who offer something beyond institutional Christianity and offer the prospect of knowing God and following Jesus as a way of life as opposed to check-list Churchianity. many of these authors, including myself, get hammered by the Christian establishment. If you mess with city hall, you’re going to pay for it. People criticize such authors as having “bad theology.” In my opinion, many of the criticizers have “bad theology,” and so I’m not sure where that argument ends. People who are “shedding religion” are also drawn to books that promote and speak to spirituality over religion or books that focus on nurturing your inner world. You’d be surprised to know even how many church-going Christians secretly read Eckhart Tolle books but would never admit it. For some people, reading one chapter from The Power of Now was worth more than one year of sermons. This is also the reason why some Christians become interested in Buddhism and Eastern spirituality; these seem to speak more deeply to the root condition of humankind and one’s inner spiritual world as opposed to the focus of a lot of pop-Christian writings. At first, some people are not aware that there is a rich Christian tradition of contemplatives and mystics who lived a very robust Christ-centered spirituality. A few contemporary examples might be Thomas Merton, Ricahrd Rohr, Bede Griffiths, and Flora Wueller.

3. You are in danger of going off the deep end

Perhaps one of the most annoying things (to those who judge them) about people who are shedding religion is that they begin thinking for themselves. Some Christians have come from churches where the idea is fostered that congregants should only expose themselves to church-approved leaders, teachers, writers, musicians, politicians etc…because doing otherwise would be the equivalent of purchasing a one-way ticket to the flames of hell. Apparently, only a very select few people are capable of discerning truth on their own, the rest of us are ill-equipped for doing so and would be easily lured into all kinds of error if left to our own. I know this may be difficult for some to believe, but people are capable of being exposed to all kinds of differing views of God, and can discern for themselves what truth is present in these views, and what of these views seems inconsistent with truth. I have a Buddhist friend; i have detected truth is things he believes but i did not become a Buddhist. I have an Atheist friend, and I totally agree with this person’s views on all kinds of things, including some of their objections to God, but i did not become an Atheist. I have a N.Y. Yankees friend, i agree that the Yankees have some of the best baseball players but I did not become a Yankees fan. People are truly capable of doing this sort of thing.

When people begin thinking for themselves and base their opinions on firsthand personal experience, they realize that the world doesn’t fit so nicely into all the labels and boxes that religion is sometimes prone toward imposing on things. Religion and politics seems to share a difficulty in disagreeing with others without demonizing them, and wants to slice up the world into the “us” and “them” camp or the “right” and “wrong” camp. I’m not talking about turning a blind eye to evil in the world, or pretending that one’s beliefs doesn’t fuel such evil. All religions, including Christians, have justified evil in the name of God.

4. You can’t give a straight answer

Lots of questions aren’t so easy to answer anymore for Christians in the “shedding religion” process. For example, questions like: “Are you a Christian?” or “Do you believe in the Bible?” or “Do you go to church?” or “Do you believe in the gospel?” are no longer “yes” or “no” questions for a person who is “shedding religion.” He or she is immediately wondering what is your definition of a “Christian,” and what is your interpretation of the Bible, and how you delineate what “church” is, and how do you understand the “gospel?” By not answering “yes” or “no” it is not a sign that the person is “dodging the issue;” they legitimately cannot answer with a simple “yes” or “no.” It would be better to ask more open-ended questions like, How is Jesus Christ relevant to you?
