Lazarus as a pre-quel .....

Picture this ...

Jesus is on the the run for home by now.
He is coming to terms with
that which He will do, to death.

He has said this to His disciples a few times.
They don't get it.
They are enraptured to the notion
of a "right handed" "winning" Messiah.
They even fight about claiming their throne seats !

So the following is an acted parable.
(It actually occurred, but can be viewed as a parable, ok)

Martha and Mary send word :
He whom you love, is sick.

Jesus (strangely) says
that this sickness won't kill him,
but it will show a lot of Glory.

John again emphasises how much Jesus
loved Lazarus, Martha and Mary.
(Mary, the 1 who anointed Jesus,
then wiped his feet with her hair).

After a couple of days Jesus says :
"Let's go back to Judaea."
Disciples say He's crazy,
they are itchin to stone you!

"Got to wake Lazarus up."
"Well, no need to if he's sleepin, ay"
"He's dead, ok?"

By the time Jesus gets there,
Lazarus has been dead 4 days.
Totally dead,
Totally buried.
Totally stinking!

Martha gives Jesus the learned response of
"One day, some day, we all get to live again."
But Jesus wants her to get this acted parable.
"I AM the resurrection and the life ...
believe Me, though you die, yet shall you relive."

Mary comes out to him, now,
as do mourning Jews.
Jesus is getting tired of all this
displayed hopelessness.

He is gonna get on with this Glory.
"Where is he laid"
"Come and see."

Now, this is where Jesus cries.
Misinterpreted as a love response
by the Jews, who then try to
blame Him for being late !

When Jesus sees where he is laid,
He weeps.
A tomb.
A stone to remove.
Grave clothes.
The smell of herbs and death.
He sees His own death.

Then He speaks : His own Resurrection.

"LAZARUS RISE UP."

wow, wow, wow, wow, wow !
