what the grace i love, is not .....

+++++

the grace I'm talkin about is NOT:

good manners;
an ability to speak on complexities, simply:
to sing as though touched by an angel;
to play an instrument that resonates to your soul;
to write words written straight from your heart;
one's mercy, love, generosity, and integrity.
+
it is a rock of offence that trips, or grinds;
it is offensive and scandalous to the religious;
it is the opposite of this "you had it comin" world;
it is most excellent good news for ALL .....
grace is the Someone who made you cherished .....

+++++

P asked me what some of the words meant
in the second paragraph.
so this is the result of going to the concordance !

+

I lay in Sion a chief corner stone
elect, precious:
and he that believes on him
shall not be confounded.
.....
the stone which the builders disallowed,
the same is made the head of the corner,
.....
stone of stumbling,
and a rock of offence,
even to them which stumble at the word
(1P2)

some Greek translation:
Lithos = building stone [used 55 times in NT ! ]
Proskomma = stumbling obstacle
Petra          = a large stone, rock (solid)
Skandalon  = offence; contrary to expectation.

+

the stone rolled away from the sepulchre
[resurrection]

+

six waterpots of stone
[to heady wine]

+

Whosoever shall fall upon that stone
shall be broken
.....
on whomsoever it shall fall,
it will grind him to powder

some Greek translation :
(M21)(L20)
Pipto      = fall; alight upon; fall from self-righteousness.
Sunthalo = broken; crushed together;
Likmao   = grind; winnow the chaff from the grain
.....
chief priests and the scribes the same hour
sought to lay hands on him;
and they feared the people:
for they perceived
that he had spoken this parable against them.
(L20)

+

for they drank of that spiritual Rock
that followed them:
and that Rock was Christ.
(1C10)

+

they stumbled at that stumblingstone;
[righteousness by trust]

I lay in Sion a stumblingstone
and rock of offence:
and whosoever believes on him
shall not be ashamed.
(R9)

+

command this stone
that it be made bread ...

[lol ... hey devil
your talkin to the stone
who IS bread]

.....
[angels] shall bear you up,
lest at any time
you dash your foot against a stone.

[how compassionate and empathetic is Jesus,
if we do stumble at the stone
He has provided angels to bear us up ... wow]
(L4)
