thrust out

"... and you yourselves thrust (ekballo) out. (L13:28)

[I am totally persuaded of
Jesus' Grace and Benevolence to mankind;
so where he is not "geeing up" the controlling lawyers,
I will interpret His words with an ultimate Eternal Loving Future.
I say ultimately because I think humans can choose ways
that have negative consequences for a period of their eternal life,
i.e. particularly, in our life on Earth before the Day of His return.]

ekballo :
be deprived of the power and influence one exercises in the world

ballo :
let go of a thing without caring where it falls ...

"There shall be weeping and gnashing (brugmos) of teeth ... "

brugmos :
denotes extreme anguish and utter despair

... and why this anguish and loss of power and influence ?

... because they (the religious leaders) didn't "get" that which
Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and the prophets understood of
The Son of Man ...

Note, in this only occurrence of "gnashing" in Luke,
Jesus is not referring to hell,
but to a position of little power and influence in the future.

+++++

[all other "gnashing" scriptures are found in Matthew]

.... I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel. (M8:10)

... many shall come from the east and west, (non-Israelites)
and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob,
in the kingdom of heaven.

... the children of the kingdom shall be cast
out into outer darkness:
(a position of little power due to lack of faith)

there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Once again this is not a condemning to hell,
but Israel losing position and receiving extreme anguish,
due to unbelief in what
Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob believed;
whereas those from the East and West
believed in the Son of Man.

(M13:41)
... Son of man shall send forth his angels,
and they shall gather out of his kingdom
all things that offend, (skandalon)
(all occasions to stumble),

and them which do iniquity;
(them that cause one to be outside God's Law)

... cast them into a furnace of fire.

there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.

(because of this, the devil and his agents cast into fire)
the (made) righteous shine forth
as the sun in the kingdom of their Father.

Who hath ears to hear , let him hear .
[Jesus moves quickly into parables of Himself,
selling all, to get His treasure (us) .....
hear His perspective of us.]

Then the dragnet gathering all kinds of living things.
The evil angels separated from the justified ones.
The evil cast into fire.

then peculiarly, Jesus finishes with the following :

Have ye understood all these things?They say unto him, Yea, Lord.

Then said he unto them,
Therefore * every scribe
which is instructed unto the kingdom of heaven
is like unto a man that is an householder,
which bringeth forth out of his treasure
things new and old.

[this will have to be for later revo, i think]

+++++

(M25:41) Separating of sheep and goat nations.

Depart from me, ye cursed ,
into everlasting fire,
prepared for the devil and his angels:

Jesus by His Redeeming Sacrifice,
has un-cursed the consequences of sin
for humans at judgement,
but not for the rebellious angels.
