There are many versions of the radical grace message
But there is one that I do NOT accept and here it is ...
"Jesus died and rose again did so that we would have a right legal standing with God!"
Why don't I accept this?
We never had a bad legal standing with God in the first place.
If Jesus died to gain a right legal standing with God then this would reduce his death to legal matters - which it is not!
That is ... We break a law ... We lose a legal right to stand before God ... Jesus comes ... Takes upon himself our sin and punishment ... And as a result grants us a legal standing before God.
Folks we never had a bad legal standing with God in the first place.
This is so far from the truth.
In fact Paul says exactly the opposite.
He says that the death of Jesus is NOT a legal matter.

But now the righteousness of God [gospel that saves 1:16-17] has been manifested APART from the law
Can you see?
The Gospel is not legal
It is apart from the law
This is why the death of Jesus has nothing to do with gaining a right legal standing with God
If it was then Jesus died to act on God some way
That without the death of Jesus we could not legally stand before God.

His death acts on us not God.
When Paul says we are justified by faith he is not talking about a legal matter by which we can stand before God.

WHY DO SO MANY CHRISTIANS WANT TO HOLD ONTO THEIR VIOLENT GOD?!!!!
WHY cant they see what the New Testament so clearly says!
I woke up to find my inbox filled with UPSET over the series I just finished!
Basically I said that God is NOT THE ACTIVE AGENT of all the violence that the Old Testament attributes to God and
That Satan is the one who killed AND NOT WITH DIVINE CONSENT!
Yes ... I know that the book of Job says it differently but ...
Jesus made it clear that:
1. Satan is the one who makes people sick WITHOUT DIVINE CONSENT!
Let me share with you that apostles said the same thing!
- THE APOSTLES AGREE WITH JESUS!
- Satan does not work on the same side as God and neither does he work through divine consent!
SATAN WORKS THROUGH HUMAN CONSENT NOT GOD'S!
1. Satan does not work WITH God in the heavenly court - as it says in the Old Testament. Satan is the ENEMY and works AGAINST GOD!
- Paul says that we are at WAR WITH HIM! Ephesians 6:10-17
- Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil. Colossians 2:15; Hebrews 2:15
-2- Satan does not work through divine consent but through HUMAN CONSENT!
- You have to get this point!
Satan is on the prowl looking for HUMANS to give him ACCESS and CONSENT to cause DESTRUCTION. 1 Peter 5:8 says he "SEEKS" humans TO ALLOW HIM IN to destroy! He seeks human consent in the New Testament NOT divine consent as in the Old Testament.
-3- Satan seeks human consent and gains it through unresolved human anger - he doesn't ask God! Ephesians 4:26-27
-4- Humans are the ones who CONTROL the activities of Satan - NOT GOD!
Ephesians 6:16
11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can TAKE YOUR STAND AGAINST the devil’s schemes.
16 take up the shield of faith, with which YOU CAN EXTINGUISH ALL the flaming arrows of the evil one.
FOLKS!

The New Testament says NO!!!!

Satan works with human consent not divine consent
And it is HUMANS that are in control of Satan not God!

Grace and Law are not just teachings. They are ages. The age of the Law began to fade away on the cross and was destroyed when the temple and Jerusalem were destroyed.
The Christian is in the age of grace whether he likes it or not.
Law and Grace are also individuals. Law is depicted for Gentiles as Adam and Jews as Moses. We are now in Christ. Adam died on the cross. Moses died when the Temple was destroyed.
7. We must be careful if not we will be possessed by demons.
We are the new house of God. If you can tell me demons entered in the temple of Jerusalem then I tell you, you can be possessed by one.
8. The end of the world is coming.
There is no such thing as end of the world. The word should be translated as end of the age. According to the KJV the world ended when Jesus died.
Hebrews 9:26
For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.
9. Only pastors have special anointing.
You are all saints and priests of God. There is also no such thing as double portion of the spirit. It's a term that meant Elisha is Elijah's successor. It means he has the first born blessing.
10. God will take care of your problems when you pray.
Since when did you pray for Jesus to come?

Our sins have never in reality separated us from God -1-
This is a lie!
Jesus died to put that lie to rest!
Look at the way Paul unpacks this in Colossians 1:16-21.
1. In this passage Paul brings it all together
2. He says all things in both spiritual and physical realms were created

And the place that this creation took place was

2. If there is no separation from Jesus ever given both realms were always in Jesus then ...
If all creation has always been in Jesus then how can Paul say that Jesus died to bring reconciliation about?
But somehow the blood and the cross result in bringing both realms into their reconciliation to Jesus.
Here is where understanding what SIN really is comes into it I believe.
Jesus shed his blood on the Cross for the sin of both realms to reconcile them to Jesus.
Then shock of all shocks.
The very next verse tells us exactly what the sin in both realms was that was dealt with by the Cross!
